Project type
Course Creation
Date
May 2024
Location
Layton UT
I led the transformation of the learning objectives from the Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training (UT POST) into a dynamic and interactive interrogation course for the police academy. This course is designed to enhance the skills of cadets in conducting ethical and effective interrogations.
Responsibilities and Contributions:
> Curriculum Design: Translated UT POST learning objectives into a structured and engaging course, ensuring alignment with state standards and best practices in law enforcement.
> Interactive Learning: Developed interactive modules, including role-playing scenarios, simulations, and practical exercises, to provide hands-on experience and reinforce learning.
> Content Development: Created comprehensive training materials, including instructional guides, multimedia presentations, case studies, and practical exercises.
> Assessment Tools: Designed and implemented assessment tools to evaluate cadet proficiency and understanding of interrogation techniques, including quizzes, written exams, and practical assessments.
> Technology Integration: Leveraged e-learning platforms and digital tools to create an accessible and interactive learning environment.
Tools and Software:
Utilized Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Captivate), Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Word), and various e-learning platforms to develop and deliver course content.
Challenges:
A key challenge was ensuring the course remained engaging and practical while adhering to strict regulatory guidelines. By working closely with UT POST and law enforcement experts, I successfully balanced compliance with innovation, creating a course that is both educational and interactive.
The course has been successfully implemented in the police academy’s training program, with positive feedback from cadets and instructors. The interactive approach has significantly enhanced cadet engagement and mastery of interrogation techniques, preparing them for real-world applications.
